ARA Engine uses the latest line boring machines to restore worn out and damaged line bores with maximum precision.
Our onsite premise is located in the Greater Western Sydney region. Using the latest line boring technology manufactured by world-class providers, we deliver a quality service to meet the specific needs of all private, commercial and industrial clients.
Why Line Bore?
Over time, engine blocks become worn, damaged and out-of-round – causing the engine block bearings to seize and spin.
ARA Engine offers a comprehensive resizing and alignment service for diesel, petrol, locomotive and marine engines. We aim to increase the lifespan and efficiency of your engine block and meet or exceed original factory standard tolerance levels.
The AMC Schou L2500V Line Boring Machine can resize main bearing bores up to 110mm in diameter and 2540mm maximum length. The 0 – 750 RPM spindle speed allows for total control and precision to produce the smoothest possible finish.
Restoring the bearings to their correct specifications will:
- Correct bore alignment to ensure crankshafts and cams can rotate smoothly
- Increase the lifespan of the engine block
- Allow the main bearings to resist warping caused by temperature changes
For line honing, the Sunnen Line Hone CH1000 has a diameter range of 46 – 178mm and a minimum stock removal of less than .003” off the caps. Its fast setup and ease of use makes it easy to correct warping, distortion and misalignment.
ARA Engine is comprised of licensed and experienced technicians who specialise in line boring for most types of engines.
With over 30 years of experience in engine reconditioning, we have an impressive
portfolio of satisfied clients from a range of industries. From agriculture to construction, forestry, locomotive, marine, mining, transport and private vehicles – your engine reconditioning needs are under one roof.
